Adnan(Owner) he is the best local chef , he is doing a really good job on pastas and pizzas . I can definitely recommend to get Fettuccine Alfredo . Also his pizzaz are really tasty and satisfying .
For the Ottawa local market I am so happy that we have that place on the Byward Market , it keeps history and taste for ottawa so just go and try one slice :) -

Stopped in on the Easter weekend for a bite to eat. Staff was friendly but they didn't seem in a hurry to take my order. I had to ask the pasta cook if he was the one I ordered from. Eventually settled on the Panini sandwich because the photo of it on their menu looked pretty good. Turns out the 'panini' at Il Mercato is only panini bread, with a few slices of processed turkey and some sauce. Very disappointing. Menu photo shows a sandwich in a panini press with lettuce, tomato and cheese along with a side salad. Menu prices were reasonable. Saw lots of takeout pizzas flying out the door.
Would probably visit again but will stick to pizza slices. -

Looking for something quick and easy to eat. My friend picked to go in here. He got the pepperoni pizza and seemed quite happy. I picked the veggie pizza (as in the average restaurant it's usually and awesome choice). I was a bit disappointed. The vegetables were sparse and it was close in taste to a plain cheese pizza.
My friend liked his pepperoni pizza enough to go back the next day again. So maybe I just had bad karma that day and mediocre pizza was how she paid me back. I don't know.
Would I return: Probably not. If I do, I'll be having the pepperoni slice. :-)

The meat ball was great, and the dishes were large. We ate for one and half meals. The owner was friendly too. The price was reasonable. Great place!
